School catering since March 2023
Finally, we have made it and the children are happy.
From March 2023, our 48 elementary school children will have breakfast and a hot lunch every day!
Those who eat regularly learn better.
The trees planted at the opening have grown!
Our reforestation campaign was successful and everything is greening very nicely!
We did it!!! The first grade is enrolled in our school!!! On 23/01/2013 we finally started!!!
We were able to recruit our first elementary school teachers, and then we finally started on 01-23-23! There were sooooo many children, we couldn't take them all. There are now 40 children in the class.
The school is officially registered with the Nairobi County Education Office. This means that the school also participates in the government school feeding program. We will see how this works and if there is enough food for the children. The region is very poor and has been particularly affected by drought and hunger for several years.
For the enrollment, a tree planting campaign was also carried out, initiated by Rebuilding Pastoralist Livelihoods Kenya, a partner organization of CBO ("community-based organization" is a local association of a community that has the goal of advancing its own development through mutual support).
There is still a lot missing, but the start is done!!! We are very happy. And the children who can go to school for the first time are very happy. That is what is most important!!!
Here we go, this way the schoolchildren celebrate!
July 2022 - WE HAVE REACHED A LOT !!!
THE SCHOOL IS INAUGURATED !!!
On July 30, 2022, we have officially launched our school and girls' protection centre. Our school launching ceremony was attended by guests from all over Marsabit County, including the First Lady of Marsabit, Alamitu Guyo, the County Education Officer, Baisha Galgithele (Loiyangalani office Marsabit county) and other government officials. Our main sponsor Gisela Hoffman had come from Germany. It was a wonderful ceremony as we celebrated this great milestone. We would like to thank again everyone who supported us. Many have joined together, and each of them is helping to ensure that our northern Kenyan pastoralist girls receive a good education. This is the only path to equality that will prevent poverty, female circumcision (Fgm/c), early marriage, child labor, violence against women (GBV) and other harmful cultural practices that affect girls' rights.

"Thank you for helping us help".
Many girls in the Marsabit County region of Dakhane/Kargi in Kenya have no one to help them escape genital mutilation. We provide them with a shelter. And in the attached school they will be educated to become self-confident women with education that can make them strong for their whole life. Thank you for helping us to help! Every donation can make the difference for a girl.
To all of our supporters, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your important gift to girls in need of protection in Marsabit County, Kenya.
